Ledgent Staffing is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support our local Twin Cities clients.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations by performing a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain and update financial records in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Approximately 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
